New London, Groton climate solutions workshops to be held next week

A New London and Groton Community Climate Solutions Workshop will be held at 6 p.m. Monday via Zoom. The workshop aims to foster conversations about climate change through a series of panels. Participants will hear about ongoing projects addressing the impacts of climate change and promoting sustainability in their community; examine the intersection of climate change, health and equity; and learn about resources and opportunities available to assist these efforts through the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection. Each panel will give participants opportunities to discuss these topics with speakers and give feedback through question-and-answer sessions. The workshop is open to all, but DEEP especially encourages “individuals who live, work, and/or play” in New London and Groton to attend. The virtual workshop will be followed by optional in-person discussion groups on Sept. 22 in Groton and Sept. 23 in New London, taking place from 5 to 6:30 p.m., with dinner and child care. DEEP is organizing the workshop with the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut. Registration for the virtual workshop and optional in-person discussions is available at bit.ly/ngccworkshop.
