In 2019 an anonymous donor partnered with the Northeast Women & Girls Fund to establish their first three-year challenge, which incorporates both matching funds to grow the endowment, and immediate use funds to supplement annual grantmaking to area nonprofits.

We are continuing to build the Fund, and as we enter Year Three of the Big Match Challenge we hope to raise $30,000 to earn a $60,000 challenge contribution toward the endowment and an additional $5000 to supplemental grantmaking to area non-profits. Due to the pandemic, the sustained economic effects of our most vulnerable women and girls are on the rise. Our grants remain especially significant moving forward to 2021 and beyond, as we work to bring a beacon of hope and light the way toward a better tomorrow for women, girls and their families in the Northeastern Connecticut region.
