The Community Foundation, in conjunction with researchers at DataHaven, has developed our first report on The Status of Women and Girls in Eastern Connecticut.

In this report, we’ve examined the conditions affecting women and girls in 5 key areas: economic security, education, workforce development, wellness and wellbeing, and disparities in leadership opportunities. While we’ve documented some positive changes, there remain persistent lags. A great deal of work remains to get to a vision of equity that can improve the lives and esteem of all women, and through those ameliorations, benefit our entire community.

This report was developed to catalyze actions ranging from household conversations to group discussions to gatherings that address how we all can support equity for our women and girls and advocate for equality through our attitudes, actions, and philanthropy. We hope as you review this work, you’ll envision your role in an ever-expanding network of change-makers championing the rights of and opportunities for women around the globe and you’ll join us as we work for change throughout Eastern Connecticut.
