The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut recently announced the launch of the Neighbors for Neighbors Fund, which will rapidly deploy flexible resources to frontline community organizations that meet the basic needs of residents of Eastern Connecticut, especially those who are most significantly affected by the coronavirus pandemic and the resulting economic consequences.

The fund is designed to complement the work of federal, state and municipal government efforts, fill gaps and to expand local capacity to address all aspects of the outbreak as efficiently as possible.

The Community Foundation will administer the fund and grants process and, in collaboration with United Way, will convene an advisory group to include regional representatives. An initial round of grants to be made within the next few weeks.
