Our Full Capacity:

A conversation about how women’s equality elevates us all and how to make it happen, together.

Women’s equality is not just a women’s issue. It affects the well-being and prosperity of every family and community, everywhere. In the U.S., women now comprise over half of college graduates, yet there are significant disparities in their representation and compensation—from the C-suite and the board room, to the legislature and the lab floor.

How can we—men and women—more equitably support women and advocate for equality? How can public policy put some of those systems and supports in place? How must our culture rise to the call? And what can we do, individually and collectively? What kind of economic and social impact would such an effort yield, now and for generations to come?

The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut thinks it’s worth talking about. Join us and add your voice to the conversation.

The Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut invites all members of our community — especially young people — to participate in our final Thriving Communities Conversation of 2017. This is an opportunity for safe, civil discourse that encourages contrasting points of view, requires respectful listening and results in new understanding. The conversation will be followed by a brief reception for more informal discussion and networking.

Register by Monday, October 30 at events@cfect.org or by calling 860.442.3572.

REgister Now

The Community Foundation will offer mini-grants of $500 to nonprofits and affiliated student groups who want to continue the conversation, in the hope that the knowledge gained and the bonds formed will energize us all and lead to great things for Eastern Connecticut and beyond.
